Nectar serves as a valuable connection point, offering a heightened level of connectivity, allowing you to stream live footage from your phone's camera.

HOW IS MY PERSONAL DATA UTILIZED?
Nectar gathers only the essential data needed to securely link residents with first responders and does not disclose or market your information to third parties. For more details, kindly refer to our Privacy Policy.

Nectar aligns with the digital rights guidelines from the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), advocating for apps that are effective, evidence-based, indispensable, proportionate, encompass strict anti-bias protocols, and are subject to rigorous oversight and audits. Registration with Nectar solely mandates providing your mobile number.

WHEN DOES NECTAR HAVE ACCESS TO MY CAMERA?
Calls made via Nectar do not automatically activate your device's camera. Both the resident and the first responder must actively tap the video camera icon to enable video sharing. The camera is restricted from running in the background or beyond an ongoing Nectar call. Video usage is discretionary for both parties; for instance, a police officer might opt to use video, but this choice isn't mandatory for the resident.

I DOWNLOADED NECTAR, THEN REGISTERED. WHAT'S NEXT?
Upon registration, you are all set! If a participating public safety agency needs to contact you, the communication will come through the Nectar app rather than a traditional phone call. If you happen to miss the call, you can utilize the Nectar app to request a callback.
